Henry Bassett and Ann had Benjamin Bassett christened in Lewes Sussex in 1807. Yet no marriage record for a Henry and Ann within the right timeline can be found and because there is no mention of Benjamin in census records until 1841 he cannot be "allocated" to a known Bassett family. Could he be the son of Henry who married Jane Sales the same year or was he a son of Henry who lived and married in Chailey?

Lucinda is thought to have been born about 1802 in new York,USA.In 1850 she was living in Illinois and married to Nathaniel Merrill. It is likely that her ancestors were early immigrants from England. Her descendants are known but not her immediate ancestors.

Died in 1676 in St Enoder,Cornwall and married Grace whose surname is currently unknown. Information is neededfor of parents and grandparents.
James Bassett

James Bassett was born about 1759 and married and lived in Oxborough,Norfolk. Some researchers give his birthplace as Norfolk while others believe that he might have been a son of John Bassett 1711 and his wife Elizabeth of Ightham,Kent.
